Saints Zenovius and Zenovia the Brothers
Holiday date: 30/10
Saints Zenovius and Zenovia lived and were martyred during the time of Diocletian. The two brothers came from the Aiges of Cilicia and came from a rich and pious family. Zenobius was a physician and practiced his science uncharitably.
The two brothers carried out a great charity work and this provoked the wrath of the pagans and in particular the ruler Lysias, who ordered the arrest of Zenobius.
During his imprisonment his sister Zenobia voluntarily came to the authorities with the desire to commiserate with her brother. Both were put to death by beheading after torture in 285 AD.
Note: According to another version, Zenovius was martyred under Diocletian. He was born of pious parents, Zenodotus and Thekla, and how, when he grew up, he became bishop of Aigon, performing many miracles.
