Saints Trofimos, Sabbatios and Dorymedon
Date of celebration: 19/09
All three were martyred under Heliodoros, king of Provo and governor of Antioch (278 AD). So when Trofimus and Sabbatius found themselves in Antioch and saw the various sinful orgies being held in honor of Apollo, they did not hold back and publicly denounced this sinful insanity.
Of course, they were quickly arrested and brought to court. They boldly declared that they were Christians. Then the ruler Heliodorus ordered and they whipped them mercilessly.
So much so that their flesh was being cut to pieces. There Sabbatios breathed his last. And Trofimus was led to another harsher ruler, Dionysius Peronnius. He, after flaying him with iron claws, threw him half dead into prison. There he was visited by someone, a member of parliament, Dorimedon, who saw his martyrdom and was confirmed in the faith of Christ.
When the ruler learned this, he severely tortured Dorymedon. Then he threw both of them food to the beasts in the amphitheater. But the hungry bear and the bloody leopard stood to their feet like tame lambs. So did the ferocious lion they released later. So when they saw that the beasts did not touch them, immediately the executioners beheaded them.
