Saints Kirikos and Iulitta his mother
Date of celebration: 15/07
Saint Iulita, lived during the time of Emperor Diocletian. He came from Iconium in Asia Minor. But since the persecution against the Christians prevailed at that time, she took her son Kyrykos and went to Seleucia and then to Tarsus.
In Tarsus she was arrested by the ruler Alexander, who subjected her to horrible tortures in front of her child. Then he tried to bring the little one with him. But the little boy did not accept and in fact after invoking the name of Christ, he gave a strong kick to the stomach of the ruler. He was so enraged that he threw it down the steps, breaking the little Preacher’s skull. In this way the little Preacher received the crown of martyrdom. And his mother after a while, after being subjected to many and horrible tortures, surrendered her spirit to Christ.
