Saints Trofimos and Efkarpion
Celebration date: 18/03
Saints Trofimos and Eukarpion were soldiers in Nicomedia and lived in the years of Maximian (about 298 AD).
Pagans at the beginning, they persecuted the Christians harshly, even complicit in their imprisonment and torture. But Christ also performed his miracle on these persecutors. His grace opened their eyes and brought them to His faith. Now fervent Christians and preachers of their Redeemer, they freely proclaimed His name and tried to multiply the phalanxes of His followers.
When they were denounced in Nicomedia, they stood firm in their confession and were condemned to death. At first they tore their flesh with iron instruments, and then they killed them by throwing them into a burning furnace.
